today is the day of violining. i get my little hands on an all new instrument. i get to hold it and play it and make the music my own sweet sighings of strings. learning will be fairly easy, i think. i tried playing one the other day, and i could eke out a few Christmas carols well enough. it will be beautiful, absolutely beautiful as soon as i can possibly train my fingers not to go flat and sharp. i may even go all out and buy a book about learning violin, but, that would be more than free, and so, as half of my heritage demands, i will play dutch and just buy the instrument.
